Lynn Westmoreland has some Democratic competition...
And his name is Patrick Pillion.
Here's the news from the Coweta County Democratic Party's website:
"Patrick Pillion, of Carroll County, has decided to run for the US House of Representatives in Georgia's "new" 3rd Congressional District (the "old" 8th CD). He will seek the Democratic nomination to (presumably) face incumbent Lynn Westmoreland. Over the next several weeks, Patrick will be visiting counties throughout the district to meet and discuss the issues with Democrats across this west central Georgia district. Over this same period, he will be making a series of "official" statements announcing his campaign."
I'm not being a nay-sayer here, but the last Democrat to go up against Congressman Lynn Westmoreland ended up getting twenty-four percent (24%) of the vote in the General Election. However, that's not to say that Lynn Westmoreland can't be beat.
It's just going to take a butt-load of money and a pretty doggone conservative Democrat to beat him.
