Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Michael Thurmond is breaking out the big guns this week as former President Bill Clinton comes to Atlanta Thursday for a campaign fundraiser. The event, scheduled to be held at the Sheraton downtown Atlanta hotel, requests a minimum contribution of $250. A photo with President Clinton will set you back $2,400.
During the 2008 Democratic presidential nominating contest, Thurmond endorsed Hillary Clinton for President.
He's gonna need every dop of cash to make this a competitive race. The DSCC appears to have left Thurmond out to dry. Its a shame, Thurmond should have run for re-election as Laabor Commish & then run against Chambliss in 2014
ReplyDeleteKeith: it is everything the DSCC can do to hold current Dem seats without spending money trying to pick up Senate seats. To me, Thurmond should have lobby the redistricting folks under the Gold Dome for a Athens based congressional seat.
ReplyDeleteSo a good candidate like Thurmond goes against one of the only GA GOPers that moderates can stand. Don't blame me because my blog is the record of me saying that Isakson and his warchest should have been left out of the mix.
